CARMEN DICK
When other young girls were playing with dolls, I was making their clothes. My love of fabric began at a young age watching my mother sew for me and my sister. I went from sewing clothes for my dolls to my own prom dresses to creating window treatments for my home.
In 1997 my husband and I purchased a crumbling but architecturally beautiful old house in Orlando’s Spring Lake neighborhood. Built in 1926 the Mediterranean style home was chosen as the showcase home for Hope and Help Center of Central Florida’s fundraiser. The home’s transformation, aided by a team of professionals, including interior designers, architects and builders inspired me to fulfill my own deep held desire to return to school to get my degree in interior design.
Several years later I was a born again interior decorator with my own business and Soho Interior Designs was born. My company was named not after a geographical location, but after Soho, my beloved Bichon Frise.
My passion is to arrive at design solutions that work for you. Combining my vison and expertise, along with your dreams, needs and goals, we’ll arrive at the perfect spaces that express who you are…and who you want to be.
